Here are a few of my favorites from a sweet little love shoot I had the pleasure of photographing with Roxy and Omar while they visited Portland all the way from Houston, TX! We had a great time wandering around the Alberta Arts District looking at the cozy neighborhood houses and, of course, making a little pit-stop at Salt and Straw for some of Portland's finest ice cream. Enjoy!
I spent the past weekend with some of the most genuinely inspirational photographers at Photo Field Trip. Words can't express the gratitude I feel for the long-lasting friendships I made, the knowledge I gained, and the incredible fun I had! Wrapping up the weekend was the Lazers and Blazers after party where we all epicly danced our asses off (while I ran around snapping polaroids). Here is the tiniest of glimpses into one of the best weekends I've ever had. To the photographers who stirred a deep passion in me, thank you. I love you.
Meet the Hamptons! Working with this family was a complete delight. Danielle and Hank are the type of kindhearted people that you instantly feel a connection with in spite of only just meeting them 5 minutes ago. I was immediately welcomed into their Prescott, AZ home and felt like one of the family; eating clementines with Henry and discussing artisan coffee brew methods with Hank. This little family is full of love and I feel so lucky to have shared a small snippet of daily life with such wonderful people.
If you aren't already familiar with her work, Danielle is the author of the fantastic blog Sometimes Sweet. Hop over and give it a read - I've been enjoying her posts for years!
Have you seen Twin Peaks before? For Melissa and me, there is no greater show in the history of television. We became best friends in college over an intense love of all things David Lynch and have been inseparable ever since. We’ve been taking trips to North Bend, WA where they filmed the iconic show for years, marveling at the foggy mountain peaks and mossy greenery. There’s something wonderful about quiet mountain towns and the sound of wind in the trees that just seems good for the soul. Here is a glimpse into some of our adventures. — Amy
We stay at the North Bend Motel each time we visit. While it’s not the most glamorous of places, it’s packed full of charm with its wood paneled walls and minimal rustic decor. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else! I’m not entirely sure how the tradition began but when two best friends who happen to be photographers stay in a hotel room together, sometimes you have to take some bed jumping photos. So that’s exactly what we do every single time we stay at the North Bend Motel.
Here are a few snippets from a wonderful engagement session I had the privilege of photographing over Thanksgiving weekend. Riva has been a longtime friend and I was over the moon to be able to document such a special time in her life. A little over 6 months ago she and her fiance Jesse moved from New York City to the sweetest Hollywood garden apartment. The courtyard was so charming it ended up being a primary location for their shoot; how special to have these memories of their first home together to look back on and share with their future generations.
